Background
The Brittish and colonists emerge victorious after the French and Indian Wars, but are in heavy debt. To
help pay for the expenses, Britten is forced to tax the colonies and place
soldiers in colonist's homes because they had nowhere else to go. Outraged, the
colonists started protesting, until at last they declared themselves to be their
own country and waged war for their freedom.
The Revolutionary War should have lasted months, with
the Brittish squashing the revolution like an ant. They were outnumbered,
outgunned, and had no navy. But they did, however, have a few advantages. They
used women to cook, clean, and do all sorts of things for the millitary, had a
great leader, George Washington, and also were fighting at
their home, so they had a good reason to fight.
The
British, however, had their own advantages. They had much higher numbers, had
the help from Loyalists and Indians, and they had much stronger firepower. But
they weren't invincible. For one, they were 3,000 miles away from home base,
making it difficult to make quick actions. They also had weak motivation, had no
famiarity of the country where the rebels camped, and their red uniforms made
them easy targets.

Some of the major game-changers that helped the Patriots march to victory were the battles at Trenton, Saratoga, and Yorktown. In Trenton, Washington fought with the Hessian soldiers and won a victory that boosted the Patriot's morale. Saratoga was a huge victory because it showed to the French that the Patriots stood a chance against the British, and they ended up forming an alliance the rebels. The siege at Yorktown was the turning point in the war that allowed the Patriots to capture over 7,000 British soldiers.
Afterwards, Britten ended the conflict with the Americans and they had won their independance, but they couldn't have done so without the help of the weapons that they stole and were given. Back then, you couldn't even consider fighting a war without muskets. With the accuracy of sniper rifles, the Patrios were able to pick off British officers from afar. Plus, massive blows from cannons were essential as well.
So what kinds of weapons and uniforms helped us win the Revolutionary War? Well, let's go find out.
